Community Food Pantry Grace
Community Food Pantry is a non-profit organization, which, in 1981,
grew out of the efforts of the Grove City Ministerium to address the
needs of low-income families in the community.
Although housed in Grace United Methodist Church, the pantry
is not a mission of Grace Church but rather of the community as a
whole. We are supported
through various grants, the Grove City Area United Way, and by the
generosity of many Grove City area churches, organizations,
businesses, and individuals. Clients who cannot pick up their food during the day may call the church at 724-458-8660 to make special arrangements. “A
Helping Hand from Your Neighbors” The
Grace Community Food Pantry is here to help when people are having
a hard time making ends meet! We are located in the basement
of Grace United Methodist Church at the corner of Pine and S.
Broad Streets. (Enter at the red door below street level across
from the post office.) HOURS:
Mondays from 1:30-4:00 p.m. (except holidays) The
Food Pantry offers necessary items such as:
The
amount of food that families receive depends on the family size. We use
State guidelines to determine who qualifies for help. Families
do not have to be receiving other government help to get food at the
pantry. Our clients must live in the Grove City Area School
District. Families who don’t meet our income or residency
guidelines can receive a 1-time emergency food order. PANTRY

proof of address, & should know the total amount of income for
everyone in the household. The
Clothes Closet is located down the hall from the pantry, and is open
during pantry daytime hours. Free new and gently used clothing is
available there for anyone who needs it, whether or not they are a
client of Grace Community Food Pantry. Volunteers
age 18 and over are always welcome at Grace Community Food Pantry.
From time to time, there are opportunities for teen
volunteers as well. If
you are interested in volunteering,
or would like to organize a food drive or fund-raising event on
our behalf, please call Jenna Magee at 724-748-4995.
Please direct other questions or concerns about the food
pantry to the church office. The
Clothes Closet provides free new and used clothing to anyone needing
it, whether a Pantry client or not.
It is also located in Grace United Methodist Church and is
open during daytime Pantry hours. |
